I have had some problems with shading so i was wondering how to determine where all the light goes etc etc

here's an attempt of some body shading



what do u guys think?

hi i think youve got the right idea and places for the lighter spots, but useally on a car the bottom part the shell dips in so make these areas dark. i use about 4b 6b for this and then dependin on the car get lighter towards the top leavin some white.
but remember ALWAYS START WITH THE LIGHTER PART FIRST! as its hard to rub out the darker parts and you mess the paper up.
i ofund this out a while ago lol the papaer ripped i was applyin so much pressure to the rubber to get the pencil off lol
ive uploaded this pic but im not sure it will come up if not ill stick on pics
its just a 2 mins skech to show you wat i meant,its not the best but hey

I improved it slightly with some paint since i don't have pencils that are dark enough

ye thts about the right areas where its dark n light now just try n blend in the paint with lighter paint them you should be able to use pencil for dark area
its no use usin hb or h or somthink like tht caus when u go to take the pic 9if u do) the light bounces off

all i have is 4b for the dark parts had a 6b but that ended and i can't find a new one all i can find are 5b and they're not that darker.


i don't take pics i scan mine it's much better quality

thts gd onthe wheel the inside part shade that dark and then rub out the circles makin it all out tht will look even kler thn
