Bal
Bal is a highly respect artist. Who has inspired others to draw beyond their limits. He chose March car of the month. This week he has also been asked to be the first featured artist. I did an interview about his style, passion and about art.
Do you work from life, photographs or imagination?
Mainly photographs it add imagination to add more details
What or who inspired you to start art?
I used to play out all the time in Bradford on the pavements I used to draw me really enjoyed you can’t do that now because the pavements are tarmac. The pavements were stone slabs those days we had competitions amongst friends the subject was mainly cars, dinosaurs, superheroes.
I enjoyed drawing so much it was a great way making friends those days and being popular!!!
Where do you feel art is going?
I feel art is going into digital age where computer art is just as important but I am old fashioned I prefer old school Like Photoshop
What is the role of the artist in society?
Artist role is very important because from young age children learn to draw first before they write they really express themselves. I see art almost disappearing in some places I am trying my best to keep everyone interested. I teach art in school everything from model making, clay work, drawing, painting etc I want to make a difference.
What technique do you use?
I use every technique available I teach the children everything I know because I am learning all the time.
Which more important to you, the subject of your art, or the way it is executed?
The way it is executed the way it is done you can transform something ugly make it look good.
Do you prefer a perfect smooth technique or a more energetic expressive technique and why?
Both because in a more detail drawing painting you need to be smooth in a collage, mosaic you can be energetic expressively oil painting needs careful work smooth working
